Beit Hashofar is pleased to announce the opening of our new Lichtenstein Guest House and Beit Midrash.  This new facility is conveniently located steps away from the synagogue and offers the comforts of home as well as an informal study space.

Guests can relax in the newly renovated early 1900's home, featuring 3 bedrooms, 1 full bath, a living room, a spacious and cheery dining room, a full kosher dairy kitchen fitted with marble countertops, a large deck with seating for twelve, and a quiet front porch with swing.

Our Guest House is an optimal base for seeing the Northwest region or just to stay overnight on Shabbat while residing in a kosher environment.

In addition, our Beit Midrash is also a hub for community events, study sessions, and a cheder for our younger students, bar and bat mitzvah age and under.  Looking to plan your next synagogue event?  Contact This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. Welcome Home!

Upon entering the Lichtenstein Beit Midrash and Guest House, you will be greeted by warm, shabby chic surroundings.  The design of the home is meant to be carefree and welcoming.  We hope you will nestle right in and feel carefree!

The dining room table in the Guest House has a seating capacity for 12 people - plenty of room for you and other guests who have come into town for Shabbat and wish to dine together.  The living room provides a vintage ambiance and a large picture window view of the Riverton area.  The 1900's feel oozes out of this main floor living space and will leave you feeling peaceful and at ease.

Kosher Kitchen

Enjoy an evening as if you were home in our kosher dairy kitchen.  Equipped with everything you need to make an enjoyable Shabbat, the makings of many good meals have happened right here. The kitchen is stocked with a full refrigerator/freezer, dishes, glasses (water and wine), plates, cookware, bowls, serving dishes, coffee maker, urn, hot water teapot, gas oven and cooktop, cupboard space to store your food items, and plenty of silverware and serving utensils.  Staples such as coffee, tea, salt, pepper, flour, sugar, individual creamers and other small items are kept on hand at the house.  Bring your own kosher dairy or pareve foods and make a meal to remember.

Guestrooms

The Rabbi Akiva Room

Located on the main floor, this guest room has a full-size futon and ample room for relaxing when the futon is not in use.

One of the windows faces East and provides a panoramic view of the Riverton area, while the other gives a view of the synagogue itself which is just a jog down the lawn.  This smoky lavender room is a cozy space  - when this room is vacant, it functions as an extra sitting room for guests or a private place to daven, reflect or read.  This room is our only handicapped accessible room.  It is conveniently located next to the bathroom, which is outfitted with grab bars in the shower.

The Olive Room

Located on the second level of the Guest House, this room faces West.  This room receives ample light and is a very cheery room for the single traveler.  It is outfitted with one twin size bed and well-appointed linens and pillows.  There is a an elegant chair for reading and resting, and the room beckons one for a Shabbat nap.  The olive color of the room is very soothing and will help any weary traveler to sink into its surroundings gratefully.  Located outside of the room, a sitting area awaits. Sit and soak in the mango-walled surroundings of the upstairs hall area with a good read.

The Mizrachi Room

This room is also located on the second floor and faces East - as its name implies.  It is the largest room of the house and is decked out in shades of white, blue and black.  The antique furniture in black outlines the white matelasse bed linens and the soft Laura Ashley wallpaper.  With a queen bed nestled in the room, you will feel right at home in the top of the Guest House.  Outside of the room is a seating area for two located near the stairway; this mango-colored nook provides ample space for the avid reader to take advantage of on a Shabbat, or the little ones to sit and play. The Mizrachi Room is large enough to accommodate sleeping arrangements for a family with little ones.  Please request a crib and/or cot if you are in need.

Not Gan Eden, But Outside To Be Sure

The Guest House has comfortable seating for at least 12 people on the back deck area and 2 people on the front porch swing on the East Side.  Take some time to soak in some sun on the back deck or just be amongst the greenery....may it be a strength unto you!
